Our philosophy My view is that if the kids are enjoying themselves, then we are achieving our main aim. To me, this is the most important factor. The improvement in results and performances is in some way down to hard work in training, but my feeling is that the main reason we have improved is because we enjoy what we do. The players Attendance at training is incredibly good. There is a tremendous bond and spirit between the players. The lads are now old enough to realise that you only get out of football what you put into it. Football is all about 100% commitment. The players are learning social skills, how to be part of a team, learning how to enjoy victory, and learning how to take defeat. These are all important life skills, which in future may help the boys in a far wider field than that on which they play their football. My view All of this leaves me with a feeling of huge responsibility. This is why I take every opportunity to remind parents of the importance of their input into what we do. My main role is to provide a safe environment in which lads can enjoy playing football. Ultimately, I arrived in this position because of my love for the game. However, I have already made some great friends since joining the club. When I look forward to training or matches, I look forward not only to football, but also to meeting up with the players and spectators again and seeing them enjoying themselves. It is also very important to me that we abide by our club code of conduct. I want our team to be well known by other clubs for our friendly approach, which remains the same, whether we win, lose or draw. I enjoy good banter with the opposition coaches and parents and we must always try to be consistent with our behaviour regardless of results. I believe our reputation is good, and I will continue to encourage people connected with our club to show good conduct and focus on enjoying the game. Cheers, Ian
